NHS Funded Sight Test & Glasses

We believe in providing quality service and glasses at affordable prices and are happy to work with the NHS to help fund the best eyecare for our customers.

If you qualify* for this scheme the NHS will cover the full cost of an eye test and, in some cases, will also give a voucher towards the cost of glasses. NHS vouchers may be used towards any of our glasses in-store, including designer frames. Check the NHS website for eligibility to this scheme, or call our store, where one of our staff members will be happy to advise you.

Are you eligible for an NHS funded Eye Test?

You are entitled to an NHS funded Eye Examination if you fall into any of the following categories:

  • You’re under 16
  • You’re 16, 17 or 18 in full time education
  • You’re over 60
  • You’ve been registered as partially sighted or blind
  • Aged 40 and above and the brother, sister, son or daughter of a person diagnosed with Glaucoma
  • Diagnosed with Glaucoma
  • Diagnosed with Diabetes
  • Need complex lenses (we can advise you of this)
  • You or your partner receive Income support, income based job seekers allowance, working families tax credits, employment support allowance (ESA)
  • You’re named on an full help HC2 NHS certificate may also get help towards the cost of their eye examination

People named on a partial help HC3 NHS certificate may also get help towards the cost of their eye examination.

Are you eligible for help with the cost of your glasses?

You will also qualify for an NHS Optical voucher towards the cost of your spectacles /contact lenses if:

  • You’re under 16
  • You’re 16,17 or 18 in full time education
  • You need complex lenses (we can advise you of this)
  • You or your partner receive Income support, income based job seekers allowance, working families tax credits, employment support allowance (ESA), Pension Credit Gurantee.
  • You’re named on an full help HC2

People named on a partial help HC3 NHS certificate may also get help towards the cost of their spectacles/contact lenses.
